STRUCTURE - HIGH RISE
Now that my footprint is not changing, I have revised my structure for the high rise. I am resending this to Kurt for his advisement. Revisions will be made as required.
LAST SKETCH UP TILL THE END
So, this file is basically not working anymore and I am having major issues with it. So you can see the basic horizontal bars I am creating and I am going back to CAD so I can get everything done in a timely manner. The verticality will be reinforced by the spaces between the tube openings for the frame windows. I hope you can get the gist from this. As you can see I can't get the Gehry building pic to work. So... look for more in elevations and others to come throughout the rest of the day.

DETAIL 2
The Curtain wall and Shading device detail has been started. I plan on studying the construction of the actual shade later this week and will do a further enlargement of that area. The yellow shaded area represents the light coming in and deflecting off of the shading device when it is open. It essentially becomes a light shelve. I will be adding an angled "hinge" that will connect at the top and allow the occupants to control the angle of the device. I also need to add the fire stopping between the slab and the wall.

DETAIL 1
So here is a first stab at the roof edge along the north wall of the academic building. I plan to utilize the skin to collect the water runoff and funnel it down to the collection walls and pools throughout the site. I have to provide fire rating so I am trying to decide how I am going to do this. Currently the steel members are exposed with fire proofing spray but I need to provide the insulation at the roof so I may enclose the system and provide the insulation in that zone. Off to bed so I can provide the other 2 details to you tomorrow when I get home from work!

SKETCH UP AND I ARE FIGHTING!
So, I spent all day today (off from work) working on this and I am still not happy with it, but my husband came home to the kiddos pouring salt on each other’s heads and a house that looked like a war zone. Needless to say, I am done with sketch up for today or my laptop will be out on the sidewalk in the snow that is pouring down! Here are a few images so you can gather what I am working on. I am moving to the details tonight (in AutoCAD my favorite) and then I will come back to the views from the tower tomorrow evening when I get home from work. Sorry, I really wanted to have more, but I have been working for almost 12 hours straight on it and it is driving me insane! Hope you enjoy the views I do have and can provide me with some input. The grid isn't in on the glazing and I am still trying to decide on the roof line for the atrium glass roof. I think I might pitch it up from the south to the north and the east to the west so they meet in the corner. Provide me with your thoughts on this. Like Eddie pointed out at the intensive I need more than a typical hip glazed roof like most atriums are.
Traveling East - don't know what happened to the pic on the Gehry building but it's going to have to wait to be fixed! You can see my tower takes a much larger presence then it did when we left the intensive session. The lower portion now extends over the tracks and provides a solid wall at the edge of the turnpike similar to the Gehry building.

START OF MODEL
So I have started the model but it is very sketchy but I wanted to post what I have so you all know what step I'm at. I am going to be bringing this model into sketchup and adding the grid pattern to the windows and adding materials so you can see the effects. For now you will have to rely on the elevations to see where the wood is. Tomorrow I will be adding the materials and taking views out of the tower so I can develop the tower windows. My tower is now on the edge of the Mass Pike and is 102' (I think) tall. So it should be a good segment to the Gehry Building. Please remember these are sketchy and are not even close to be finalized!!!
